VIDEO PRODUCTION

Baby Quark

"Baby Quark" is an animated music video that was produced in collaboration with Chris Ferriequantum physicist, popular science communicator, and best-selling author of the children's book series, Baby University. This quirky (or quarky) music video adapts the classic Baby Shark song into a song about quantum particles! Fernando JM coproduced the video with Chris Ferrie and his animation studio team. Fernando also produced the music, designed the particle characters and concept artwork, developed the storyboard, recorded the vocals and backing vocals, and co-wrote the lyrics. Little Syne was the name and pseudonym for Fernando's children's music project, later rebranded to Fernandito Jm.

CRATE: Memories of Jensen

Fernando JM was one of the cofounders of Crate, an NGO that organizes educational events to empower undeserved communities through design and creativity. "Memories of Jensen" was an initiative to capture the memories of the Eastex Jensen neighborhood. The interview video series features 12 local residents and activists speaking of their memories and experience of Eastex Jensen, with the aim of recording some of the neighborhood's history while also shedding light on some of the most pressing issues in the community. Fernando co-directed and produced the project, also helping design the branding, website, logo, and other design elements for Crate. The video series was showcased at the Jensen Jubilee Fall Festival, during which the Houston mayor, Sylvester Turner, declared the Jubilee an official day in the city of Houston.
